The Sunrisers Hyderabad team has replaced Kane Williamson as the new captain in place of David Warner. Williamson will lead the team in the remaining matches of IPL 2021. Along with this, the team has indicated that there may be a change in the foreign players of Hyderabad against Rajasthan Royals. That is, in place of David Warner, the Hyderabad team can give Jason Roy a chance in the playing eleven. Warner has been battling for runs this season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad informed Kane Williamson on Twitter about making the new captain and said that the team management has decided that it will change the combination of their foreign players in the match against Rajasthan Royals. David Warner’s recent form has been nothing special this season and he has scored 193 runs in 6 matches, but his strike rate is just 110.28. Warner has failed to score fast runs as an opener, due to which the pressure on the rest of the batsmen has also increased. Talking about Jason Roy, the England batsman’s performance in ODIs and T20 series played against India was strong. Roy is well known for taking advantage of Powerplay and is known for big shots. The special thing is that he has played the series against India recently and he is very well acquainted with the pitches.

Hyderabad have lost 5 out of the 6 matches played so far this season and the team is currently at the bottom of the points table. In the last match, the team had to face a crushing defeat by Chennai Super Kings by 7 wickets. Hyderabad batsmen could not perform as expected this season and that is why the team has lost some very close matches. Williamson did not play in the opening matches due to injury, but he was part of the playing XI in the last two matches and played a brilliant knock of 66 against Delhi, batting brilliantly.
